About Us

Yansa is the Cherokee word for bison. The bison was vital source of food, energy and sustenance for the Cherokee. We chose the bison as our mascot for a powerful reason: it’s the only animal known to face directly into an oncoming storm. While other animals seek shelter or turn away from danger, the bison stands firm and meets it head-on, symbolizing strength, resilience, and courage in the face of adversity.
